A familiar situation
Convert a training time and distance into pace per kilometre or mile before comparing workouts.
How to use this calculator
- Enter distance, distance unit, hours and the remaining inputs.
- Select Calculate to see the answer and its breakdown.
- Keep a scenario, change an input and compare the results.
Use consistent units and check the assumptions below before applying the result.
How pace is calculated
Pace = elapsed time ÷ distance. Speed = distance ÷ elapsed time. Unit conversion uses 1 mile = 1.609344 kilometres. Running 5 km in 25 minutes is a pace of 5:00 min/km and an average speed of 12 km/h.
Pace=time/distance; speed=distance/time.Running 5 km in 25 minutes is a pace of 5:00 min/km and an average speed of 12 km/h.
Assumptions & useful context
The result depends on the values you enter and the method described above. Displayed numbers may be rounded; calculations use the unrounded values. Check that this model matches your situation before relying on it.
Health calculations are estimates for education. They cannot diagnose a condition or replace a clinician’s assessment. Individual needs vary, especially during pregnancy, illness and growth.
